Approving it without key ecological evidence would put the Council in breach of its <strong>legal biodiversity duties<\/strong> under the Environment Act 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please sign and share our petition today:<\/strong><br>\ud83d\udc49 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/save-the-great-crested-newts-and-all-protected-species-at-glebelands-nature-reserve\">Save the Great Crested Newts and All Protected Species at Glebelands Nature Reserve<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why this matters:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Glebelands<\/strong> is one of the last remaining wild spaces in our area, rich in biodiversity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The great crested newt<\/strong> is a protected species and requires proper surveys and mitigation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the application is approved without this, it could set a <strong>dangerous precedent<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We believe that if the law is not followed, we will have no choice but to launch a <strong>legal challenge<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an urgent moment for our community to come together and protect local nature for future generations.
