New campaign launch – Save Our Newts

A new campaign – Save Our Newts (SON) – has just launched. This will boost the campaign by Our North Finchley and nature groups to prevent the GNLP development from damaging the Glebelands Nature Reserve. The massive GNLP scheme could lead to the extinction of London’s largest colony of protected Great Crested Newts.

Glebelands is home not only to Great Crested Newts but also to bats and other important wildlife. Their habitat is now under serious threat from the proposed development at the GNLP.

This is not just about one or two species, it is about whether development in our area respects nature, the law, and the community. ONF is proud to support this campaign, which strengthens the case for proper, lawful, and sustainable development in North Finchley.

What you can do

  • Read the launch announcement
  • Learn more about SON at the campaign website
  • Share the links to the announcement and website with your friends
  • Support the wider campaign to protect the Glebelands and challenge harmful development
