GLEBELANDS

OPEN SPACE

Our North Finchley’s Community Gathering/Walkathon started as a chance to bring local people together to celebrate our neighbourhood and raise our voices for the kind of developments we do and don’t want.

But then GLA overruled Barnet Council’s decision to reject the Great Northern Leisure Park tower blocks.

Our campaign has one option left: a Judicial Review. And we need to raise at £4000 to have this option. We’ll have to raise a lot more later to fight the case in court.

So, right now, we need to come together. The event is still fundraising for the community, for local charities, but we’re also focused on fundraising for Our North Finchley’s legal fees.

We’re coming together to raise money for legal fees to oppose the GNLP development. And we’re raising money for four local charities.

It’s also a chance to meet your neighbours, ask questions about the campaign and have fun!

GETTING HERE

We’re gathering at the Glebelands Open Space, at the corner nearest to the Albanian Association Football Club and the Glebelands Indoor Bowls Club.

There are three entrances:

    1. Via the slip road from Summers Lane.
    2. By footpath from the High Road down the back of the Hollywood Bowl. You can also access the footpath from the back of the GNLP car park by the side of Wagamama.
    3. From the footpath at the end of Legion Way.

We encourage everyone to walk, cycle or bus (263, 112, 382) to the Gathering.

If you do need to come by car, please park at the Great North Leisure Park.

There is disabled parking by the Bowls Club if you have access needs. Please pop us an email with your registration plate. For safety reasons we are limiting parking on the site for staff.
