The Developments

Our area, which has seen no major development in decades, is suddenly confronting three large planning applications by the developer Arada London. The development at Lodge Lane car park has sadly been approved, despite the valiant efforts of local campaigners. But, we will be holding the developers and Barnet Council to account on the management of the construction. The impacts on residents and the local area, including Northside School and the public playground cannot be underestimated.

North Finchley Town Centre ‘Masterplan’

Planning Submitted

North Finchley Town Centre Masterplan (855 homes): The main plan will demolish most of the area on and around the Tally Ho triangle. Regal then plan to build blocks of flats between 6 and 21 storeys high and new shops.

Great North Leisure Park (GNLP)

Planning Approved

Great North Leisure Park (1,485 homes): The cinema, bowling alley and restaurants will be flattened and replaced with an extremely dense development of very tall blocks of flats up to 25 storeys high. The Lido will be refurbished into a Leisure Centre.

Lodge Lane Car Park

Planning Approved

Lodge Lane car park (98 homes): New blocks of luxury flats will go up on the existing car park, with a small cinema and bowling centre. The number of car parking spaces will shrink from 222 to 80. There are no affordable homes in the plan.
