The Quiz Night raised £1,187!

This is an incredible result and will make a real difference to the campaign.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Quiz Night Supper Fundraiser at St Albans Church Hall on 20 March. It was a packed hall and a really enjoyable evening, with quiz rounds including local history and general knowledge, a raffle and auction with prizes donated by local businesses, ONF T-shirts on sale, and a chance for residents to find out more about the campaign and what we’re working on.

As Michael Levitsky, one of our organisers, said on the night:

“This quiz night isn’t just about answering general knowledge questions; it’s also about addressing the difficult questions confronting our neighbourhood. Every ticket purchased here, and donation made, helps us all to challenge bad developments in North Finc”This quiz night isn’t just about answering general knowledge questions; it’s also about addressing the difficult questions confronting our neighbourhood. Every ticket purchased here, and donation made, helps us all to challenge bad developments in North Finchley, to promote construction of affordable housing and support sensible town centre regeneration.hley, to promote construction of affordable housing and support sensible town centre regeneration.

We’re still dealing with the harmful Masterplan and Balfour House applications in the town centre, which are sitting with the council. Arada-Regal’s Great North Leisure Park proposal is going before the Mayor. We have instructed community solicitors to help make our case in front of him soon, which is one reason we need to raise more funds. We’re also working with nature groups to save the Glebelands Nature Reserve, including its protected Great Crested Newts, from the threat posed by the huge scheme next door.”

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who:

  • Bought tickets
  • Donated raffle prizes
  • Helped organise the event
  • Helped on the night
  • Bought raffle tickets and T-shirts
  • Spread the word

A special thanks to all at St Alban’s Church, for letting us use their hall. It’s becoming somewhat of a home for us now!

These community events show just how much people care about the future of North Finchley.
