Actions you can take to help save North Finchley
GNLP Great North Leisure Park
The Regal by Arada planning application was rejected by Barnet Councillors by 8 votes to zero (1 abstain) on 4th December 2025. Sadly this is not the end of the matter. This has been referred to the Mayor of London and could be steamrollered through in line with the Government’s “Build Baby Build” policy.

Here are some ideas of what you may object to:
- Height
- Massing
- Density
- Public Transport (lack thereof)
- Location (adjacent to the highly air polluted North Circ.)
- Biodiversity issues (Glebelands/Newts)
- 4,300 expected additional residents with no additional NHS, Education or Dental services
- Loss of valuable and much loved public amenities including Hollywood Bowl, Vue Cinema and countless restaurants
Pennycook’s recent statement in the Commons: “We’ve been absolutely clear, as a government, that when new housing comes forward it must be matched with new amenities & new infrastructure…(to create) thriving places and communities.”
